PREMIERSHIP frontrunners Chris Munce and Rob Heathcote are on the verge of significant milestones with just four meetings remaining in the season.
Heathcote moved to 58.5 winners for the season when Simmering, Solzhenitsyn and Excellantes won on Saturday.
He is now on the verge of cracking the magical 60 mark, which has only ever been achieved by two other trainers. The late Bruce McLachlan did it six times (with a record 78 in 1987-88), while Gerald Ryan reached the mark twice.

Munce is now only six wins short of surpassing his personal best of 85 wins, when taking the 1991-92 Brisbane premiership.
He is taking a family holiday after this weekend, meaning he only has two meetings to reach the mark.
"I tell you what, I'll give it a good crack," he said.
"If I can top 80 I will still be over the moon. My main goal was to just get the premiership.
"I have had a number of trainers helping me along the way and it's been good, particularly without the support of one single stable.
"Moving back to Brisbane is the best thing we could have done as a family. I am enjoying my time up here and to have achieved the goal I set out to, I'm pretty happy about it."
The success of Munce's season can be gauged by the fact Scott Seamer (96 wins in 2000-01) is the only other jockey to have cracked 80 wins in a season since Munce's 1991-92 haul.
Heathcote said it would be humbling to join McLachlan and Ryan, but more importantly his stable is now competing in the top-class races.
"I have already hit $3 million in prizemoney this year after being just under last year," he said.
"I have a good infrastructure working now. What has pleased me the most is that I can go away and everything ticks over as smooth as. That's important and it's a sign that things are going pretty well."
He is hopeful the 60 winners will roll over this week, tipping he can "rattle the cage again" on Saturday.
Jess Sar Belle will be favourite at Eagle Farm tomorrow, while impressive Doomben winners Solzhenitsyn and Simmering head his team for the Tattersall's meeting on Saturday.
